Purchasing a Puppy from Harbidge Black Shepherds

At Harbidge Black Shepherds, we place great value on our dogs. High-quality food, insulated and heated dog houses, exercise, and lots of love and attention. They are a part of our family, and we spend a lot of time with them. We trust that the experience of purchasing one of our puppies is a reflection of their home life and our value for our dogs.

We are one of the very few Black German Shepherd Breeders in Western Canada to offer the quality of dogs and such a complete purchasing package.

Puppy Package - Every Puppy Comes with the Following:

• CKC Registration

• CKC Microchip (inserted)

• 4th Generation Pedigree Papers

• 30 Days of Trupanion Complimentary Puppy Health Insurance through the CKC

• 2-year Breeders Agreement

 

Pricing:

Puppies are $2000CAD, with a $100 deposit to hold a puppy. Payments can be made via e-transfer (most common) or cash. At this time we are not set up to handle credit card payments.

Occasionally, a buyer will return a puppy due to changing life circumstances. In that rare instance, we seek to rehome the puppy for a reduced price. If interested, please contact us, but also please note that this has only happened 3 times in 7 years, so it is very rare.

Purchasing Process:

Note: We are located near High Prairie, AB, on Mountain Time, so please keep that in mind when calling or messaging. Messages received late in the evening or very early morning will not be responded to until regular daytime hours.

• Reach out to us via text or phone call to express interest in purchasing a puppy

• We will arrange a video call so you can see the pups, meet us, and we can meet you

• Once you choose a puppy, the collar color and gender of the puppy will be recorded under your name

• A non-refundable deposit of $100 sent via e-transfer is required to hold a puppy. We also require the following:

  • First/Last Name

  • Mailing Address

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • If known at the time the deposit is placed, two names for your puppy. 

  • *Two names are required by the CKC for registration purposes. 

• Once the puppy reaches 8 weeks of age, they are ready to re-homed

• The Buyer has three options for picking up a puppy:

  • We fly pups with West Jet Pet across Canada. Buyers are responsible for the cost of the flight, crate, and any incidental expenses.

  • We make trips to Edmonton to meet buyers from across Western Canada on arranged dates

  • Buyers are welcome to come to our acreage and personally see the pups, choose a pup, or pick up their pup that they chose via video call

• Full payment is required prior to the pups leaving the premises to be delivered, or upon pickup of the puppy at our premises

• All pups are sold without breeding rights unless otherwise specified.

  • Breeding rights can be obtained after consultation and for a fee of $1000

We have heard how hard it is to find well-bred Black German Shepherds, and we know that sometimes the timing just isn't quite right! If you would like a puppy but can't take one right now, or perhaps missed our last litter, please send us a message and ask to be put on the waiting list.
